You know I’m pro-tax and you also know Im not too dumb to fill in a form or two. But draconian (and intimidatingly complex) new VAT laws (from 1 Jan) for selling downloads overseas will immediately end my ability to monetise my digital music online. That’s a significant chunk of my business viability dead in a ditch, unless the government upholds a UK exemption. This is EXACTLY the sort of thing having a bunch of right-wing business-oriented nationalist pricks in power *ought* to be good for – protecting UK micro-businesses and entrepreneurs from moronically constructed international bureaucracy – unfortunately the ConDems arent even any cop at that. I guess the little businesses affected arent their fat cat donor mates. Anyway, please be aware: on NYE Im pulling down all my non pay what you want music from christt.bandcamp until such time as I can realistically deal with the new law, or they fix it.
