You know... The more I dwell on it, I didnt like the new Hobbit... It felt rushed and over zealous in its attempt to be a finale. There were a few cool sequences, such as the tie ins to the Lord of the Rings trilogy... But it didnt satisfy, not like Return of the King, and definitely not like the last two Hobbit movies. Hopefully the extended edition is better than the theatrical edition... Overall Id rate the entire Hobbit trilogy a 7/10... 2.5 points lower than Lord of the Rings which I rated a 9.5. I think the main reason Im rating the Hobbit so much lower was the CGI, there was SO much CGI I couldnt tell what was real and what wasnt, it was like a cartoon. Also the whole Azog crap really irritated me, Azog was dead long before the Dwarves started their trek towards the lonely mountain, they should have just stuck Azogs son (who was the real enemy in the book) in there and it wouldve been much more satisfying. Ill continue to stand by my statement that the Hobbit couldve been done in two films at about 3 and a half hours each with a lot of the nonsensical filler taken out.
