You know better that death is not the end of life. - WHAT BRAVE WORDS. RIP Reyhaneh Jabbari was hanged in Iran on 22 October. She was 26 years old. Her crime? As a teenager, she had stabbed a man who allegedly tried to rape her. Despite protests and pleas from across the world, Iran didnt spare Jabbari. Prior to her death, Jabbari wrote a letter to her mother Sholeh, who had wanted to be hanged instead of her daughter. In the heart-wrenching letter Jabbari asks her mother to donate her organs and narrates in spine-chilling details, what her fate would have been had she not stabbed the man who attacked her. The letter, written in a voice unwavering and strong, also calls her death - retribution. Its seems as if Jabbari had reconciled to her fate but she didnt regret her actions. The full text of her letter is being circulated by human rights and peace activists.
