You know i have friends of mine, one is here on facebook but wont tag him. they bought land in township here about 5km from where i am typing this status. People came and erected shacks there, its in the main road that land. They want to develop the land but the problem they have is that those people there do not want to move. this mean that the area loses out on jobs that can be created in the development of that land, equally the jobs that will be created in the long run as they want to use the land for commercial purposes. I think these are the issues we need to adress also. In Lenasia for instance we had people who clearly can afford to build huge houses, occupying land meant for RDP houses. You will remember that when the demolitions of Lenasia were taking place there was people marching and were in support of the demolitions, those people were from a nearby squatter camp. So in such cases, what must be done? Rhetoric and populism aside.
