You know me - not wanting to be controversial but will the poor hostages killed get a state funeral. There are similarities; 1. Both at top of their game and liked by ALL who knew them 2. Extraordinary circumstances/freak occurrence etc lead to their death- I havent checked the stats but hostage situations are not that common in this country. 3. Played out on tv in front of millions of viewers (this one lasted a whole lot longer and went global), for their families and friends to endure 4. Went to work on a normal day and never came home 5. And while I love my cricket and was very sad for Phillip hughes untimely death I guess you all now know I thought the state funeral was toooooooo much
