You know, people, you can really tell we are on the cusp of winter, when normally shy birds run the gauntlet, to dash to your bird table & grab scraps you put out. I have had, so far, goldfinches, house sparrows, starlings, long tailed tits, blue tits, robins, dunocks, black birds, even a pair of tree creepers, & wrens. Another sign of winter, the leaf litter amongst the trees, is being thrown about by winter visitors. Yes, red wings & field fares. But I have a windowsill to sand down. Cant sit here watching the birds all afternoon, pleasant as it is. Well, maybe just a few more minutes, with a nice cup of Earl Grey. And a biscuit. Or two.
