You know that book you and I never read about raising our kids? All the bumps, the tears, the long, worried nights listening to their little lungs rasp? About dating guidelines, about sorting priorities? About sending them to the store for milk alone for the first time and about who their friends are? About what punishments will work and what is too much? About pulling them or leaving them in a sport after they break that first bone? Well, ready for the next chapter, still no book. Two getting married over the next 16 months. But my heart cries at the loss of those days, cries with hope for their futures. Still giving them to God. Still want to hear that basketball resonate in our driveway. I will count the days to come as gain, not loss, for their girls are just as amazing to me. Someday, Ill see them in my arms again when they bring their little one home to me. Why didnt someone tell us how difficult and joyful it would be all at the same time? The depth of life. Not to be fully understood or grasped. I can feel it in my heart, my throat and even my jaws when I consider it all for what seems countless reasons. So glad we stand before the throne. Always glad I held that Book. :)
