You know that compost is great for the garden, but have you tried compost tea? Fill a bucket with water, toss in a handful of compost, a spoon of honey, and plug in an old fish tank aerator. Wait a couple of days and when it looks like (but does NOT taste like) tea, it is ready. Water your plants to add incredible microbial activity to your soil. Or spray it on plant leaves, since it is said to help with powdery mildew and black spot. Plus, you can cut the tea 10:1 without losing potency, which means that one gallon of brewed tea will give you ten! Do not do this without an aerator though, as the lack of oxygen can cause some funky organisms to grow in the tea. Not Little Shop of Horrors funky, but still.
