You know that saying when you dont win, you learn? Well, its taken me a looong time to learn from recent events. But I have. I have learned... I have learned that by being (and remaining) vulnerable, I am now able to distinguish between the people who give themselves permission to hurt me - and those who wouldnt hurt me if their lives depended on it. How else do we find out these things, unless we take the risk and become vulnerable? I would never had discovered that before, as Id have been too shut off to allow anyone close enough to hurt me. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined being betrayed by someone I loved. Nor that Id discover so much about myself because of it. It has been a VERY painful journey, but one, I imagine, I shall never have to take again - and for that I am eternally grateful...
