You know... there really is a definite difference bewtween people from Western Washington state and those who live in the Eastern half. I dont know why except I dont think the Easterners know exactly what it feels like to sit in traffic without moving for 28 minutes just on a normal commute day. Or all the Evergreen trees surrounding you... no horizon in sight. Perhaps its the mentality.. liberal and progressive to a fault because we all grew up with on the Western side that the world was better than it could be.. while the East thought a good farm season was all that mattered. Technology prevailed on one side while agriculture prevailed on the other. Those Cascade mountains that split us apart -- no, the Columbia river itself... lay more than just a small casting shadow upon the differences we fear, we feel. It is the very heart that separates us. We are not the same. It is a different animal, Eastern WA. Central WA is caught in between, but Western WA, the dominant opressors, knows its regime and capitalizes on it well. And i believe... that is how it should be, because progression is right, and conservatism is a step backward. Welcome to hell, Spokane.
