You know, this whole plan of shutting down the government in an effort to defund or delay the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare for you teabaggers in the crowd) has never sit well with me. It just seemed wrong! I ask a friend of mine who is an Attorney (specializing in Federal Law) why this action seemed so wrong (aside from moral reasons). He said that of course it felt very wrong. It felt wrong because it was totally illegal. *ears pricked forward* Please continue I said. Here is what he told me --- According to the US Code (18 U.S.C. § 2384 ), seditious conspiracy is a crime under United States law. The law states in part that, “If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to… prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States… they shall each be fined or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.” Well, Well, I think every single Congressman who voted to attached amendments to either defund or delay the Affordable Care Act to the government funding bill should be arrested - starting tonight! (Im sure that Alan Nunnelee and Ted Cruz are on their way over to the FBI to turn themselves in. I mean, an honest man would.)
