You know.....we so often ask people if they will vote Republican or Democrat. But, do we really know why they do? I have for a long time suspected that many Republicans vote republican because they feel the Democrats stand for special interests and they arent one of those interests. I doubt it has much to do with climate change, oil subsidies, taxes on the rich or a whole slew of other things. They simply listen to the talking points because they feel the other party doesnt represent their interests. And, I have for a long time suspected that many Democrats vote for that party because the ARE represented as a special interest and they feel someone is listening to their concerns. Joining them today I suspect are people like me who simply do not agree with what those in control of the Republican party are doing. So, why do we spend our time discussing issues and how the candidates view those issues when it may not even be the issues that cause people to vote for one candidate as opposed to another? Just wondering as we approach November elections.
