You know what I think would be awesome? If there were an annual congressional musical. Like how they have the annual congressional baseball game at the Nationals Stadium, why not have an annual congressional musical at the National Theater? They could do some big popular musical where everyone already knows the lyrics, like Les Mis or Phantom, and cast freshman congressmen and junior Senators for all the parts. The practice sessions wouldnt take up any more time than the baseball practice sessions already do, and theyd serve as a bonding opportunity for congressmen to reach across the aisle and get to know each other and make them more likely to collaborate on legislation. Plus this would be a great publicity stunt, and the proceeds could go to various charities or civic causes. This would be a great initiative for groups like the Bipartisan Policy Center, No Labels, Third Way, the GOP Mainstream Partnership, etc. Plus, who wouldnt want to see Boehner as Javert or Elizabeth Warren as Christine? It could just be awesome. Wayne Glass Simon Radford, any experience with this kind of thing in Parliament or on the Hill? Anyway Americans, vote for me and this is what youre gonna get.
