You know what makes me mad? A certain Christian writer, with a highly followed blog, bashing Mike Huckabee for loving America and accusing him of heresy. Accusing him and folks like him of equating America and God as one and the same. An Accusing him of falsely preaching about Americas greatness, when in fact we are as sinful as any other country and have no special favor with God. I say to this writer, you speak the truth on that point, but you have missed the point and have miss judged Mike Huckabee. You are taking something good and noble and turning it into something it is not. I believe Mike Huckabee to be a man of God and a lover of this country second. And, I for one, am so thankful he stands up for it, when so many men of God remain silent. And to you, young writer, I say, we need intelligent and educated men of God like yourself encouraging your generation to love this country and the freedoms it has provided by the blood of previous generations. Costly costly freedom we have been given. But if you diss men like Mike Huckabee and accuse him of spreading lies about Americas greatness, you are potentially hurting future generations of enjoying this priceless freedom, for our young men and women could very well follow your line of thinking and believe that to have pride and love of America is in contradiction with knowing and loving God. And why would they then want to fight to protect something they believe to be a lie?
