You know what pisses me off? When people are uneducated about piercings and state what theyve heard from the net or friends about piercings. RESEARCH! You know what pisses me off more?? When piercing shops give bullshit excuses for not doing a piercing you request, when they should just be honest. No, you cant get paralyzed from a tongue piercing. No, it didnt happen to your friend, or to you. The nerves that would cause paralysis are close to the spinal cord, far from harm, any chiropractor or doctor could tell you that. No, you dont have a third vein in your tongue, thats not how anatomy works. Edit: no, you wont die if a vein in your tongue is hit. Yes, you want to avoid it. And yea, youll probably bleed out but ONLY if you dont apply pressure. And a piercer confident in their abilities wont hit it to begin with. Yes, you can still get your tongue pierced if youre tongue tied aka your webbing is a lot further forward, you just need a confident piercer. So, what Im saying, is if a piercing studio gives any of these excuses, or ANY excuse for not doing a piercing, its NOT because its impossible or dangerous, its because they dont want to be honest and say theyre not comfortable with their abilities as a piercer to provide the service youre looking for.
