You know when you see something really beautiful and you just have to stop and say wow? Mongolia is nothing like that. Here is the kind of beauty that strikes something so deep in your soul that it awakens the feeling that is to be human. We forget that feeling. Smog and skyscrapers bury it. We lose our humanity so we retreat to the woods or to the beach for a day to find it and we say wow because its beautiful. But no. Mongolias beauty is so much more than that. You dont say wow because wow doesnt cut it. There are no words and yet, at the same time, everything inside you is screaming a million words to try to define what you feel, what you see. The only thing sufficient enough is silence. An ode to its beauty; infinite, colossal, instinctual beauty. You dont feel small looking at the towering mountains and vast, never ending scapes of land; you feel apart of it...because you are. This is where humanity was born and raised and your soul knows it and it resonates so profoundly that you cant help but feel that youve come home. And if you think Im being grandiose or that you couldnt possibly feel more home than your home then youve never experienced this beauty and I pray with all my heart and soul that one day you may be so lucky to get the chance.
