You know why did I not take up bird photography earlier ? The - TopicsExpress

You know why did I not take up bird photography earlier ? The answer is simple. I was afraid people will ask me the name/s of the bird/s. And reality is I do not know the names of birds. I came to know the names like Crow, Sparrow, Parrot, Heron, Night Heron only recently ! Ha ha ha. I was just joking. Not entirely though. Frankly, I still do not know names of many many many birds. That is the reason I was hesitant. But recently a birder friend of mine said, Rajan, begin shooting. Names will come later. Photos wont came later..! I saw wisdom in it. I always love to stay motivated. That advice helped me. Another friend of mine took me to Bhigwan at the same time. What a co-incidence ! Going there opened a new door to an entirely amazing world of birds to me. Now, I am in love. In love with birds.I keenly hear birds squeaking now even when I am walking and not clicking images. I am aware of them in a different way now. I am seeing dreams of birds. I went to Bhigwan twice in just two weeks. I intend to go there now every alternate week. First when I went there, I saw quite a few Photographers carrying 100-500mm big telephoto zooms. I just watched and retained that in the head. When I went there again after 15 days, I had my own Tamron 150-600mm aka 225-900 (on crop sensor) lens. It cost of 90000 Indian rupees. But that did not bother me. I am saying this with an intent to tell you how things have changed in my Life on photography. I always loved photography. It is my passion. That is because, I do not buy cameras to use them as door-stoppers. I do not keep my lenses in shoes. I love and respect everything about photography and use it as frequently as I can. It gives me a kick. At Bhigwan, while I sat in the small boat which was softly rocking, and as the boatman was taking me to those 400+ Flamingos that were standing about couple of kilometers away on a piece of land that had emerged out of the back-waters, I very solemnly promised to myself that I will come to Bhigwan 50 more times to capture hundreds of images of those beautiful birds, and that I will go to places where I get to see such large population of variety of birds. I told myself that I will walk through water, I will walk on my knees, I will climb a tree, I will spoil my shoes walking through mud, but I will now take this hobby of bird-photography, with me, to my grave...!
