You matter. You might not think you do, but you do. You matter to your family, you matter to your friends, and if you still beg to differ, you matter to me. Ive received a lot of mail and messages from fans over the years, and reading through some of them this morning, it occurred to me that they contain more apologies than Canada. Humility is certainly a very charming characteristic that Ive come to associate with members of fandom. But it goes further than that, so I want to emphasize to you that you are not wasted space and you are certainly worth more than just my attention. I love supporting charities. But paying for lunch, taking a moment to get to know you and talk to you is not a charity case, its just another opportunity that I get to say thank you for all your support, because I could not be where I am without you. Youve made a huge impact on my life, and just like your friends, if I see an opportunity to make you smile in turn, I will do so in hopes that you receive it. You will always have my gratitude for continuing to help fuel the fires of this career, for giving me the gift of being able to give back, and most importantly the ability to be hopeful for a brighter future because I know that one day many of you will be doing the same thing.
