You may all remember this fab piece in the Edinburgh News that was posted by Ciaran McGimpsey edinburghnews.scotsman/news/health/buddy-award-for-boy-who-helps-haemophiliac-friend-1-3404827 Well, thanks to this one article the MSP, Neil Findlay, passed this motion in Scottish Parliament: Motion S4M-10013: Neil Findlay, Lothian, Scottish Labour, Date Lodged: 09/05/2014 That the Parliament congratulates nine-year-old Ryan Foskett from Livingston on his success at the National Buddy Awards, which were organised by the Haemophilia Society UK; understands that the achievement was in recognition of the support that Ryan provides to his friend, Roan Idle, who has severe haemophilia; notes that the society uses these awards to celebrate the help and support that young people with the condition receive from friends, family, relatives, teachers and carers; understands that this can have a positive impact in coping with everyday challenges that haemophilia and other bleeding disorders can bring, and recognises what it sees as the important role of groups such as the Haemophilia Society UK in promoting examples of best practice like Ryan’s in the ongoing process of improving public awareness of what such disorders can mean for friends and families and for people with such conditions. You never know what can come from the awareness raising that we do! Great work from everyone - well done :)
