You may be aware of the parkrun phenomenom. What started as a weekly run for a few friends in Bushey Park in London 10 years ago has grown to over 50 000 runners taking park in almost 300 events around the UK every weekend. A new parkrun is coming to Panshanger Park, near Hertford, from Saturday 11th October 2014. The Panshanger parkrun is a free weekly 5 km timed run that will start from Thieves Lane Car Park every Saturday morning at 9am. All parkruns are aimed at encouraging the participation of all ages and abilities in running. More details can be found on the parkrun website parkrun.org.uk and in this excellent you tube video. https://youtube/watch?v=nJG0QkeSngM. Panshanger Park will provide a wonderful setting for this weekly activity and will give more local people the opportunity to come and see our magnificent newly opened Country Park. We are very grateful to Lafarge Tarmac for their support in starting up the Panshanger parkrun and to the Herts Sports Partnership. We will send more details about how to take part soon. Also, for those that can make a Monday, a new informal running group (for beginners upwards) is starting and will be meeting at 9am every Monday starting on 1st September. More details are attached. Please drop Louise an email (louise-smith@btconnect) if you would like to come along. We also have a link to the new Panshanger Group poster with more information: ow.ly/AOCi2
