You may like knowing that we have 89 likes. 24 are from Southbury alone which is where we really like to be known. In addition another 14 are from local towns. However, we even have friends from as far away and Brazil and Taiwan. It is amazing how far social media can reach. Our congregation is always looking for new ways of spreading the Word. What does your church do that is most affective to get the message out for that is truly what we need to do? Then, in the nitty gritty aspect of raising funds to help get the message out, what does your congregation do to help raise money? As many of you know, Episcopalians enjoy eating so we have our two main dinners, corned beef and roast beef. Then we have been trying to have Funraisers with local speakers coming in to share their interest/expertise with us. And, one of our best money makers is our Cookie Walk which will be coming up in just over three weeks. Lots of cookies to make everyone happy. While we earn funds through our Upper Room Thrift Shop, most of the profits from this endeavor are used to put money back in the community and the world to help others.
