For this will truly help you to be the best in you. :: :: :: By chance if you dont fall in this category, you may just move on to other valuable & entertaining posts , so that you may feel entertained. :: :: :: In the day-to-day practice of morality and ethics, there are different aspects of dharma, such as :: :: Vyakti-dharma - the dharma of an individual Parivarika-dharma - family-dharma Samaja-dharma - society-dharma Rashtra-dharma - national dharma Manava-harma - the dharma of mankind Vyakti-dharma - The Dharma of an Individual :: :: These are observance of moral and ethical principles that sustain an individuals mind. ## Some of the examples of Vyakti dharmas are: ## 1) Dama — control of the external organs 2) Arjava — straightforwardness at all times 3) Ahimsa — abstention from injury to all forms of life 4) Akrodha — absence of anger 5) Satya — truthfulness in thought and speech 6) Brahmacharya — control of carnal desires and passions 7) Santosha — contentment 8) Tyaga — renunciation of selfishness 9) Apaishuna — refraining from vilification and backbiting 10) Aloluptva — non-covetousness 11) Aparigraha — non-acceptance of unnecessary gifts from others 12) Hri — modesty 13) Mardava — gentleness 14) Daya — kindness and compassion 15) Shanti — peace of mind attained through its control 16) Kshama — forgiveness 17) Shaucha — purification of body and mind 18) Adroha — freedom from malice. :: :: ## Parivarika-dharma or Family Dharma ## These are the codes of conduct to be observed by individuals to prevent the disintegration of the family. Examples are: 1) Mutual self- sacrifice and respect. 2) Treat your mother as a God. 3) Treat your father as a God. :: :: ## Samaja-dharma - The Dharma of Society ## Individuals must observe codes of conduct to maintain a well-integrated society. This is called samaja-dharma or society-dharma. Examples are the practice of: 1) Nonviolence, 2) Non-stealing, 3) Truthfulness, 4) Refraining from speaking a truth which hurts, 5) Control of anger, 6) Control of the lower passions, 7) Practicing charity and kindness to all, 8) Refraining from backbiting, 9) Practicing hospitality, etc. :: :: ## Rashtra-dharma - The Dharma of a Nation ## The self-sacrifice made by the individuals for their country is called rashtra-dharma or national-dharma. :: :: ## Manava-dharma - The Dharma of Mankind ## Individuals have to act in a manner conducive to the sustenance of mankind. This is called manava-dharma. Self-sacrifice is the common denominator among all these dharmas. Without self-sacrifice the survival of the individual is not possible.
