You may remember almost a year ago that a young couple drove to NYC after seeing a post on our wall for a dog at the NYC Animal Care and Control shelter that needed to be saved before he was euthanized. That family named Brendan and Katie Curran decided to drive there within 24hrs and save the dog. Only after they arrived they were told that dog was not allowed to be placed with other dogs. So they found another dog to send them home with, a dog they named Cash (after Johnny Cash) was ridden with mange, kennel cough and ringworm! We donated to his care and after months he was on the mend. Their hard work to help Cash was a true commitment to dog ownership! While this was going on their existing dog Baily wasnt happy about the new addition, especially since she was older and had been the only dog for so long... now this puppy came in to run the show! So Katie and Brenadan hired a trainer and after a session or 2 were told Baily and Cash just couldnt live together. With no place to turn they asked us for help! Our go-to trainer Maura Porter from Clear Skies Evaluation and Dog Training volunteered to see what she could do to get Baily to at least tolerate Cash. AND after a couple months of consistancy by their family the two grew to actually like eachother! And now cuddle on the couch! Not only did they rescue Cash and Baily but they also volunteered to take in a foster dog who theyve had for a few months. ALL just to do what they can do to help the breed. Both Katie and Brendan are hard working folks and spend their time helping the dogs we have posted and contunially support our efforts. They are the kind of people that give back and take action! And there are so few people like that in this world. Last night they brought Bailey to be seen at an Emergency clinic named Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists in Massachusetts and its confirmed that Baily is septic. Which means she has a blood infection that most certainly will kill her if not treated right away. This being said Katie and Brenadan have already spent $1100, but the quote theyve been given is $4,000 - $7,000. We will be calling in $1500 for just the next 24 hours of care but that means we will have around $4500 to raise. Its a stretch but with Baily having a 100% chance of recovering if she gets this treatment its our hope to atleast give this a shot! This family has been there when the dogs needed THEM, it would be great to be there for them when they need us. Any dollar amount is helpful in this case $1, $5, $10...it all adds up! Thank you kindly! https://youcaring/medical-fundraiser/bailey-needs-our-help-/210034
