You must remember that I was driving in one race that I lost three drivers. Plus more friends that year. The idea was to build a boat for two races. Detroit and Seattle rough water that would not fly. No one new what the hell aerodynamics was in those days. For those that remember boats like this were running 109 MPH laps in three foot rollers. With out my knowledge, for my safety, brother Lee had the build not at 10,000 pounds but at 13,000 pounds. Then Lee for my safety again had the prop moved from under the seat to the back. I could run the 13,000 pound boat in any kind of water. But because they did not build it to John Hakers specs it would not turn. My father Joe Schoenith even had Danny Foster being one of the best in a turning a boat take it for a run. But he came in and said Jerry doing the best it will do. I am still pissed about the two major changes to the plans.
