You need a lawyer who understands a Sociopath. I provided my lawyer the texts and email threats and harassment my husband was bombarding me with. I also gave her a copy of the restraining order the same day that I was granted it. I knew my SP better than he knows himself. I knew what he was going to do, say and how he would act. After our first court appearance my lawyer told me, “be careful and watch over your back. He is very dangerous”. My lawyer then met with him privately one last time before we entered court for our divorce trial to try to come to a settlement. She came out of the conference room and said to me, “there is no rationalizing with him. He wants his day in court. He tried to intimidate me with this look in his eyes. The judge sees through him and sees his real character and so do I” she said. I had put in hours and hours of research to show his true character. Remember that your safety come first! I am not recommending you do what I did. Be safe and be smart. My SP threatened me verbally and in writing. I knew he wouldn’t try anything else because I had made sure that all my evidence was in multiple safe hands. If anything happened to me, he would be the first and only suspect.
