You never know when your training will be useful. For Joseph, - TopicsExpress

You never know when your training will be useful. For Joseph, these new drills he read about in my PDN article came at the right time. Here are his own words explaining what happened, one quote from March when he started training with the drills, and one from May when the drills paid off: I have been looking specifically for drills at PDN and came across this one. I believe I have to not only practice handgun skills but situational awareness and my hand to hand skills. I think this drill is a basic drill that needs to be practiced and am thankful for this drill. I am practicing it and it is helping me. -March 2014 I have got to report how this drill saved me from an accident. Driving down a street in the country with the work truck, using my peripheral vision on the right, I noticed something big coming at me very fast; I quickly swerved to avoid what turned out to be a car backing up incredibly fast from their driveway. It had almost hit me. What followed me was a motorcycle. I am glad it was me and not the motorcycle who might not have seen it. My thanks to Julie Loeffler who wrote this article for giving me a drill that saved me from an accident. I had been practicing never knowing if it would come in handy- well it did. Moral of the story is I am going to take all drills to heart knowing that maybe I might not use it but I might. Doing these drills is taking responsibility for my life and others and being prepared when the bell tolls for me. - May 2014
