You probably think that I am getting paid for promoting this movie. However, it is getting promoted big time on the late night shows. Last night Channing Tatum was on Jimmy Fallon talking about it. It opens tomorrow. My nephew, Darron Jones, told me a great story yesterday at Subway. In 1982, when Darron Jones was 14 years old he had a mat side ticket at the NCAA tournament that was held at Hilton Coliseum. The Schultz brothers won back to back titles. Dave Schultz was the 167-pound weight class NCAA Champion defeating Mike Sheets from Oklahoma State University in the finals by criteria tie-breaker in overtime. Mark Schultz moved up to 177 lbs to challenge two-time NCAA Champion Ed Banach from Iowa. When Dave Schultz won Darron had a perfect view of Mark Schultz mentally firing up in the tunnel for his match with Banach. I cant tell you on FB what Darron saw and heard but it was classic and left a lasting impression with Darron.
