You said you wanted a Government that is for the People, you have it! Is it for the people to prosper or for the people to suffer though? Well that depends on what kind of person you are! Yes WE THE PEOPLE includes more than you and me... Are corporations people? The U.S. Supreme Court says they are, at least for some purposes. And in the past four years, the high court has dramatically expanded corporate rights. It ruled that corporations have the right to spend money in candidate elections, and that some for-profit corporations may, on religious grounds, refuse to comply with a federal mandate to cover birth control in their employee health plans. Interestingly the first major Corporate Person was the Roman church! Having a corporation would allow people to put property into a collective ownership that could be held with perpetual existence, So it wouldnt be tied to any one persons lifespan, or subject necessarily to laws regarding inheriting property. But corporations arent mentioned anywhere in the Constitution, leaving the courts to determine what rights corporations have — and which corporations have them. Now consider that there are only 2 major political parties in the USA. Back when corporations started lobbying for personhood, starting with the railroads, they needed government on their side. The Democrats of the time were just coming out on the losing end of the civil war where Republicans took over the government and were dealing with these NEW corporate Persons needs as the country expanded. The Democrats then were in the position to appear to be on the side of the little people and that is where we have been politically for close to 160 years! Republicans dedicated to keeping Big Persons BIG and Democrats dedicated to keeping little persons LITTLE! They call it a balanced economy.......
