You see...sometimes in life we find ourselves in situations that - TopicsExpress

You see...sometimes in life we find ourselves in situations that are a little (ok, A LOT) less than desirable. We’ve ‘allowed’ someone to deceive us, disappoint us, or whatever it is. (I say allowed because we always have a choice. Hard pill to swallow…) Our first instinct is often to be mad, which helps us power through that which we know isn’t for us. Then as time passes, we might experience a little “rosy retrospection” where we may think for a moment that things really weren’t as bad as they seemed at the time. This has a tendency to evoke other emotions: hurt, deceit, disappointment. You know…the ones that make us vulnerable. Let me just tell you…this is when you need to PUSH through the hardest. I’m not going to lie, I’ve been experiencing some of this “rosy retrospection” (along with a little self-pity) over the past few days and well, it isn’t fun. I kept trying to remind myself of why I made this choice in the beginning and honestly, I continued to impatiently just pray (BEG) for a little more strength. Hey, just because you know what’s best, doesn’t mean it’s easy, EVER. THEN…I woke up to a completely unexpected reminder this morning. A reminder of what I wasn’t missing. What I wasn’t dealing with. But most of all, how much better my life has been since I chose to DO something different, something out of my ordinary, instead of the same ‘ole. God knows what you need, when you need it, believe that! My point is here, just because it hurts…doesn’t mean it’s worth it. I am sharing this because I know that I’m not the only one and I definitely won’t be the last. I hope this inspires you to continue on your path to becoming the BEST YOU & getting what you deserve instead of going backwards in a moment of weakness. Instead of looking AT what’s happened in your life, what has gotten you down, or what you feel like has broken you beyond belief…decide right now to look PAST it. While we don’t always get what we THINK we want, we always get what we choose. I don’t know about you all...but mediocrity is NOT in my vocabulary, and I hope it’s not in yours.
