You see that person that flags down a commercial vehicle (Okada, Keke etc) and then go ahead to board another, while the one s/he stopped first is making a reverse to get to him/her. That person, I dont like. You see that girl that patronizes a hawker -e.g a child hawking cooked groundnut- and eats more than the amount of the groundnut shes buying, from the childs tray while still cajoling the child to put more than enough jara to the one s/he has measured for her (the girl). That kinda girl, I cannot marry. Yea yea, e no konsain you. I know. So mind your business! Ehen, that reminds me of a guy that once went to interfere in a couples -his neighbor- fight. Only to be told to go and mind his business, by the couple. He thought his mission was going to save a woman that was crying for help to be saved from his Boxer husband, only to be told he has his nose where it shouldnt be. You see, Im beginning to think theres Nigerianly a very thin Line between Showing Concern and Not Minding Ones Business. Itll be safer to assume the Line has been obliterated by our Naijaness - whatever that means. Everyone claims to not give a fvck. Everyone dont want to be told what to do. Just Mind Your Business is what everyone wants from you. Paranoia or what? It gets more interesting when we bring that attitude to social media. Facebook especially. How do you expect people to mind their businesses on Facebook, when your business is automatically in their business already (and vice versa) - i.e your posts and pics updates, life events, popping up on their news feeds. Nna mehn, we must relate oo whenever I feel like it, as long as were bound by zuckervillean friendship. Hey, call it meddling, and I call it showing concern. :D If you no want am, you know what to do... And sometimes when you think some people are actually minding their businesses, its just be a case of their pusillanimous avoidance of your posts (esp the controversial ones) Or a show of insouciance to your updates. Whichever anyway, the point is people dont mind their business solely for minding of business sake; and, thinking its feasible to have people mind their businesses on Facebook is standing on a loooonnng thing. Actually, if people do mind their businesses on here in the real sense of the act, that means absolute ignoring of anything that isnt theirs on Facebook or has nothing to do with them via tagging; this implies not Liking any post from another or comment on any post that aint theirs. You see!? Wishing people mind their businesses on facebook is mere wishful thinking. Abeg adjust and accomodate jare. Well, na so the rant be oo. But then, after having my newsfeed plagued and raped with all the awards, platitudes of gratitudes in the light of an End Of Year show of appreciation attitudes, (chai, see as I dey rhyme like Tupac), I feel have to act in compliance with the ritual so I dont offend the trendy gods of the land. And so, I wanna say thanks everyone - from those who contributed one way or the other to better my zuckervillean involvements through their posts and comments, To the monitoring spirits ensconced in my friendlist. Special shout out to the latter. Its not easy to be there and not be seen or felt. Something akin to the camouflage of soldiers in battlefields. I hope they leave this observational coven of theirs in 2015 anyways. Now, my utmost gratitude goes to the one and only _____________; the author and finisher of ______________. I owe it to you for creating this avenue that helped drag a nigga out of his carapace of reservedness. Please, kindly filll the blank spaces with Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook respectively, to be correct. Thank you! *bows and takes his leave* *dusting his derriere as he leaves*
