You see what had happened was: Ive felt progressively worse the past few days, to the point I cant even stand up straight by the time I get home from work. Friday night I got really sick around 3AM and just couldnt shake it, so I just laid around all day yesterday. I was on the phone around 4:30 when I felt something pop in my hip. I just assumed it was nothing, but then I developed this pain in my lower right quadrant that progressively got worse, to the point I couldnt walk or roll over or sit up. I ugly cried. I dont ugly cry over pain. So I tried a heating pad and a hot shower, and then finally bit the bullet that I needed to go to the hospital. Thank God for Chris Mason and Leah Beth Mason taking the kids, but before they even arrived we decided I needed an ambulance. So Mollie got her first non-baby-related ambulance ride! We got to Centennial and the ER drs and nurses were great. My fever was 104 and they knew I was in a lot of pain, but my blood pressure was running 80/50 and they were afraid. They finally got over that because I was still ugly crying. Finally got the CT done and then, poof, Im having surgery. I obviously had a bowel perforation somewhere but they wouldnt know until they got in there. Come to find out, I had two. The surgeon thinks the mesenteric adenitis I had two weeks ago was probably the beginning of it, but the mesentery actually sealed it off and hid it. So, when I felt that pop yeaterday, he thinks that was my mesentery ripping away from the perforations. He removed that 5 inch section of bowel and resectioned it. He also suctioned ONE LITER of stomach acid/contents from my abdominal cavity, which is a lot, and that what was causing my pain was the acid eating away at all the other organs in my belly. Today I feel loads better. (I have a dilaudid button :) I have a six inch scar going straight down my belly and two drains on either side. I am only allowed to eat ice until my insides stop being so mad at me. Im on O2 and will have an NG tube suctioning out all my stomach contents for a few days. I will be in the hospital around a week. (6126 at Centennial if you wanna come visit!) And thats all I know for now! Thanks for all the prayers, messages, and calls. I have the best friends!
