You unravel me, you undress me with your persistent questioning, and with your patient analysis of my wonderstruck life. We parted ways several years ago when you hooked up with somebody else. Everything that had transpired between us, that friendship that sparked was gone. The kaleidoscope of memories and emotions slipped through my fingertips, as the background of our story turns to sepia, then to a total grey landscape. All I could blame was myself for being that stubborn girl that would not let anybody enter her world. But, here you are, back into my life again. You, in Padre Faura. I, in Katipunan. Here we are, messing up each other’s worlds. Everytime we talk, it’s as if the universe had always planned to let the tangles of our brain cells intertwine themselves with each other. Our ideas and words synced together in an unimaginable design, that we could just step back and watch each other sigh in awe. We are friends. You are the only that I have allowed to demystify my mystery, the one that I have shared my doubts and worries with, the one that I have permitted to enter my planet and abduct my thoughts and theories, my weaknesses and my insecurities. Yet you are also the one that continuously frightens me with the swift daggers of his inductive observations of life. We are friends. But both of us are aware, that sometimes, our conversations are riddled with romantic puzzles, many sentences are phrases are adorned with adoration for the existence of the other, several random messages are with wishes of longing for the other. In another dimension, we know that our counterparts are already drunk and swimming through the marsh of love. But we are friends. And I would like for us to remain friends.
