You want to know how to end racism? Stop talking about it. While I agree we need better journalism, to start at the beginning, and discuss the militarization of our police, we also need to know and consider all of the facts. Better journalism would be reporting all the facts instead of segments like this speaking of oppression, racism, and refusal to consider facts that show behavior that led to his death. Instead choosing to over simplify as being killed over cigars. To start at the beginning would not be when he got shot. It would be what is known about his behavior the day of. It is known he threatened a clerk in the commission of a robbery. It is known he was so bold as to walk down the middle of the street after committing a robbery blocking a cop from going where he thinks he needs to go. It is known he attacked the cop and tried to take his gun. This case is not an example of the militarization of our police but an example of why. Parts of our society have become very dangerous, segments like this are making them even more, which requires more aggressive polices to protect officers lives. It is the application of these polices in low crime areas, because the police do not discriminate, that is getting babies hurt, home owners killed at home, elderly reaching for canes and kids with toy guns getting killed.
