You want to know why Michigan is losing population? Here is why: In 1999 Michigan ranked 17th among the 50 states in per-capita income earned from working wages and benefits — not including welfare, unemployment and other payments from government programs. Michigan dropped to 27th place two years later, then to 30th by 2005, 40th in 2007, and has ranked 42nd or 43rd every year since.... pretty soon well hit 50.. dead bottom! And that my friends is the impact of losing auto manufacturing jobs to robots, the South and other parts of the world...sad but true...we are barely ahead of Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas and Kentucky. So, how ya feeling????? Rich? Satisfied? Us retirees will make it through but how about our college educated kids? Where they gonna go? My guess is where the decent paying jobs are....not low paying service jobs with a state with high tax rates.... sad, but true....
