You wanted it? You got it! Deadliest Mecha has returned, with the currently debated topic of Exia vs Zeta! Now, Im glad I get a chance to do this, because unlike 00 Qan[T] vs Turn A I dont have metaphysics to work with, and the fight is much more even. Without further ado, lets dig in. Weaponry: As cool as the GN Blades are, they do favor melee combat, making Setsunas ranged abilities very limited. Normally this would not be a problem due to the Speed of GN propulsion. However... Kamille has the edge here for a number of reasons. The beam bayonets allow for a smoother transition between ranged and melee, though its not like it would bother to engage in melee that much seeing as how it has both a beam Assault Rifle and a Beam Assault Cannon. Keeping range is an issue, which is where the waverider comes in, allowing Kamille to move in and out of range with impunity. The Exia may excel in Melee, but the Zeta can do damn well in both. Winner: Zeta Defenses: Gundarium, or Zero-G Titanium is pretty awesome, but Im afraid that the E-Carbon of the Exia outclasses it enormously. Basically, Gundarium is a Titanium Alloy made in Zero-G, allowing the lighter and heavier metals to blend almost perfectly. E-Carbon however is armor made out of Carbon Nanotubes, far lighter, far more durable. Finally, the protective GN field offers a much greater level of beam resistance than the Anti-Beam coating of the Zetas shield and armor. Winner: Exia Agility: Zeta. Hands down. The Waverider transformation system coupled with various propulsion mechanisms all over the body make it unrivaled in this regard. Hard to hit a moving target, and getting the Zeta to stand still is absurd. Winner: Zeta Power Plant: As awesome as it is that the Zeta uses Fusion, its hampered by the fact that Its the far weaker Helium3 variety (Lithium Fusion all the way!) Exia meanwhile has a Particle Decay reactor, effectively giving it semi-perpetual motion. (It WILL run out of Solar Radiation and Sub-Atomic Particles... eventually.) This means it can operate at full force for longer periods of time than the Zeta. If it comes down to the wire, it can initiate a GN Burst, where it overclocks the system at the cost of stability (As seen with its battle with the 0 Gundam) Plus, you know, more GN Particles. Winner: Exia Pilot: Hoo boy, this one was tough. Setsuna and Kamille are incredibly distinct in terms of their styles. Kamille is more of a high speed Berserker, while Setsuna is an cold and fluid melee fighter. Their Gundams certainly match their personalities so its a little hard to determine a universal advantage in piloting ability. Kamilles newtype powers are pretty damn close to Setsunas Innovator abilities, but... Setsuna has the ONLY concrete advantage in terms of experience. He was born with a rifle in his hand and a bomb strapped to his chest, and has known nothing else. So... gonna have to go with the Exia here. Winner: Exia Special Features: Trans-Am kicks ass. No argument can be given here. But the Bio-Sensor... Jesus Christ, its functioning DNI (Direct Neural Interface) that grants instinctive control over Minovsky Particles and I-Fields as seen with both the Extended Beam Saber attack and the Waverider Crash. Though certain Trans-Am systems can outclass it on a Quadratic Scale, they rely heavily on a Twin Drive System. Which the Exia does not have. Bio Sensor wins. Winner: Zeta. Conclusion: Taking every single advantage into account, a lot of it is still dependent on where the fight occurs, so were just gonna go with Space/Open Battlefield. With that said, the fight would be a high speed hit and run battle. Trans-Am would be used to keep up with the Zeta, and as such Kamille would be pushed to using the Bio-Sensor, which has HUGE stopping power. In the end, all these factors point to the Zeta being the victor. I love 00, and Exia is likely my favorite Gundam, but I gotta admit when its outclassed, and in this case it is. Winner: Zeta.
