Youd be suprised how often I receive emails, sometimes from almost complete strangers, asking me for advice. I dont know quite why this is but it happens pretty regularly. Maybe people think that someone whos made as many mistakes as I have may be able to pass on some useful tips on how to avoid being a douche, or maybe they think that just because Ive read a lot of books I know something about something. I dunno. Whatever the case is, I wanted to share a message I received just this morning as it has a relevance to all of us. Hi Mo, I dont why but I get a feeling that youre just the person I need to talk to about this. I hope you dont mind. Three weeks ago I discovered that my best friend, Josh, was having an affair with my girlfriend, Kate. Needless to say both the relationship and the friendship are over, although I miss them both deeply. Ive known Josh since year 7 and we were very close and although Kate and I had our ups and downs we were stronger together, or at least thats what I thought. Seems I was wrong. Im gutted by the whole thing and to top it off I think Kate might be pregnant so therell be a paternity issue. All this has bought my life into sharper than sharp focus and my minds reeling with questions, what ifs and to make it worse Christmas is looming and I feel lonely. So my question is : Should I buy a Les Paul Memphis, the new semi model from Gibson or a PRS McCarthy model? Theyre both great guitars!!
