Young Boy Kidnapped By BBS Affiliated Monk Found In Anuradhapura. 25 October, 2014 A Buddhist Monk had promised a small child of nine years from Horana Kandana area that he will purchase a bicycle for him. He had gone to a Bank with the child’s mother and a few others, including the child, and had told the mother to fill up a form. He had then excused himself and said he wants to buy some beetles and had disappeared with the child the police said. Police found the 9 year old boy who was kidnapped yesterday by a monk in Batuwita, Horana near Jetavanaramaya in Anuradhapura this morning. According to Police media spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana, the child was found following a tip off. The father of the child told news teams that the kidnapper was a relative from his wife’s side. The father explained that this person is an uncle of his wife and that he has never met him before. He added that on the day of the incident they have visited the bank, and the kidnapper has deceived the relatives and taken away the child. The monk is said to have been an attendee of the Sanga Samuluwa that was recently held in Colombo by the Bodu Bala Sena with the participation of 4000+ monks from all corners of the island. The chief guest of this convocation was Ashin Wirathu of the extremist 969 movement in Myanmar.
