Young Communication’s Group CEO Gwendolyn Young, and Account Director, Sibongile West attended todays Town Hall featuring acclaimed brain surgeon, Dr Keith L Black, Chairman & Professor, Dept. of Neurosurgery at Cedar-Sinari Medical Center. The topic was on the enormous impact Alzheimer’s disease has on the the health care system. Titled “A Healthcare Tsunami: Decline of Cognitive Functioning with Aging, the talk focused on the enormous impact Alzheimer’s disease has on the the health care system and on the community. According to Dr. Black, one in three people are expected to get Alzheimer’s disease and that ratio increases with each decade of life. But there is hope. Dr. Black has developed a device currently in clinic trials to enable early diagnosis of the disease through retinal screening. We applaud this pioneering research on Alzheimer’s Disease. We are inspired and encouraged.
