Young Hollyoaks actress Ruby ODonnell has said that her character Peri Lomax wont react well to the truth about her real parents. Fridays E4 first look episode (August 1) saw Leela Lomax tell Peri that she is her biological mother, in the midst of a huge row over the familys decision to emigrate to New Zealand. Leela revealed the truth after deciding that Peri should have a choice over where she lives, having discovered that the schoolgirl didnt really want to leave the village with Danny, Sam and Tegan. Speaking about Leelas huge decision, ODonnell told Hollyoaks official website: For Peris character, its completely the wrong thing to do because its just shocked her and made her hate [Leela] even more. Peris going to obviously be really confused, because she doesnt understand how theyve lied to her and why theyve lied to her. Peris meant to be very nice and sweet and her lifes meant to be very simple, but obviously not! Kirsty-Leigh Porter, who plays Leela, added: I think, if anything, Leela thinks shes done kind of a good thing by going, Right, there you go, Im your mum and its out there in the open. Theres going to be more heartbreak, theres going to be more drama, theres going to be more fights. Cameron obviously is very happy at the moment, but I dont think thats going to be for long. I mean, whos happy for long in the village? Cameron Moore, who plays Cameron, has previously said that his bad boy character will take fatherhood seriously as he gets to know Peri over the next few weeks. He said last month: I think Cameron is just so willing to learn and to try with Peri. I absolutely love my scenes with Ruby and Im always chuffed when I get to work with her, as you get to see a completely different side of Cameron. I personally dont know what its like to have a daughter and neither does Cameron! I wouldnt say Cameron is necessarily good at it, but he puts a lot of effort in and I think thats really endearing. xkirstyx
