Young Man look at Me Now. I have had such great intentions, - TopicsExpress

Young Man look at Me Now. I have had such great intentions, Building bridges of love and caring, Spanning oceans of doubt and misfortune, Yet not quite reaching distant shores. Thoughts of warmth and friendship, Of hugs and kisses, smiles and validations. So many years I have carried these noble aspirations, In an effort to change the world, To show kindness, and empathy, Goodness and the wholesome. Such wonderful inspirations, Such powerful elixirs of goodwill and healing, Yet the time has elapsed and these pent up ambitions Have fizzled upon the launch pad of despair. While the precious time that was given has been squandered, As an old man I am reduced to ashes Not even a footnote in human existence. Oh that I had shared my treasures, How many lives I could have changed , If only I had shared but a few Of the blessings I had hoarded, Which have evaporated into air and run Through my fingers like sand onto the beach, Only to be swept out to sea, Never to return. Young men follow not me into oblivion. Live your life with love and giving, Share what precious gifts you hold within. Be a light unto the world, and a beacon of hope To those who seek comfort. For only in giving do we receive, And through our tears taste the pure joy of living. Christopher Cole
