Psalms 78:6 (ERV) Meditation In Vietnam and other Southeast Asian nations, ancestor worship is a common practice passed down through generations because ancestors are thought to have influence over the fortunes of the living. In 1967, young Nguyen was a student whose family suffered greatly during the Vietnam War. Devoted to Buddha and ancestor worship, he prayed daily for favor. One evening, he came across the sounds of a revival coming from a small evangelical church. He attended and received a Bible. For several decades after that, turmoil ruled his life. He was forced to sell his family’s property to cover the expenses of a bad business deal. Yet he kept his Bible, and one day read it. The message transformed his life. Nguyen began attending church services and Bible studies, and learned how to share the Gospel with his family. Today, an older and wiser Nguyen serves God and attends Bible League International’s church planter training. There’s no telling how and when God’s Word will be used over generations to draw individuals and their families to Christ. What can it teach you today that you can then pass on to others?
