Your Elevation Today - James 1:5-6 WEDNESDAY: SPIRITUAL ENLIGHTENMENT Luke 24 vs. 38 “He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds?”. Doubts and fears assail our minds because the enemy is always in the business of throwing fiery darts at us to sow doubts in our hearts and thereby weaken our faith. We need the word of God at all times to fight this assault of the enemy. Luke 24 vs. 45 “Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures”. We need to pray that God will open our eyes to see the truth of the scriptures concerning the circumstances of our lives. It is only when we read the bible not just to fulfill all righteousness, but with revelation that the Word of God becomes active and alive, able to quench every fiery dart of the enemy. Dig Deeper: James 1:5-6; Matthew 14:28-32; Ephesians 1:17-18 Think about it: Can you confidently say you have enough of the word of God stored inside you to combat the challenges of everyday living? Pen and Paper: How many bible verses do you really know that can combat doubts and fears in times of trouble? Speak to the Lord: Everyone needs reassurance in times of trouble. However, faith to conquer doubt and fear must come from the storehouse of the word of God in your heart. Ask God for an “opening of your mind” and a new perspective to His word as you study it.
