Your First CrossFit Competition- What to Expect: BEFORE EVENT: 1.Couple days before event taper down your workouts. Focus on staying loose and mobile. 2.Don’t eat anything different than what you normally consume before the event. 3.Ensure that you are staying hydrated leading up to event. 4.Pack all of your workout gear ahead of time. Pack your small meals ahead of time. Consider items like: bananas, lara bars, protein shakes, chicken, sweet potato, ect. GAME DAY: 1.It will be a long day, so ensure that you EAT. Do not eat until you are full, but you want to replenish your body ASAP after each WOD. If you are not a solid food person post WOD, consider a recovery shake. BUT eat something. This will ensure energy throughout the day. 2.Stay hydrated! 3.Post WOD foam roll, stretch, mobilize! 4.We will provide chalk, but bring your own athletic tape if you use it. 5.Don’t change anything that you aren’t required to change. Don’t break out the new shoes on game day, wrap your wrists if you never have before, use the hook grip if you never used it before, break out a new jump rope. Game day is not the time to test out a new method. 6.DON’T FREAK OUT! Everyone gets nervous. Do your best and have fun! Cheer on your fellow athletes!
