Your Honor: Date: My name is Michele L. Dalby I’m writing this on behalf of my Son Charles W. Dykes-Dalby III. Your Honor Charles is my middle child. Fortunately for my children they have a maternal grandmother who has able to take responsibility where I wasn’t. Due to my extensive drug addiction I was an absent parent just like their fathers were. Not that it makes my absence okay but I honestly thought I was making the best decision for my children. Not realizing that emotionally and mentally it was only destroying them causing them to suffer from anxiety separation disorders and several other issues. My Mother did seek help for him and until he was old enough to refuse she made sure he got it. Charles was always active in which ever sport hit that time of the year varying from soccer, football, basketball and baseball. Charles excelled well enough that Washington Little League nominated him for the Little League Hall of Fame. I’m proud to say that my Son was excepted and his picture was published that year. Charles was the only child from West Sacramento to make it in The Little League Hall of Fame Your Honor. Its not only every little boys dream but his parents too. Charles knows several kids from the neighborhood like I myself and his Grandmother due to his involvement in sports from young age. That doesn’t make him a gang member Your Honor, a lot of people made bad choices like myself. They pay their debt to society and are able to change their lives. Please take a moment to comprehend the just of my letter, not everybody continues to go down the wrong road. I know if given a chance my Son will show you he will be a productive member of Our community. Charles is the proud father of now two beautiful baby girls PriscillaRose MicheleMarie and Serenity Lynn. Unfortunately for Charles Ms. Serenity was born during his incarceration. Charles was a stay at home Daddy the first several months of PriscillaRose’ life. Your Honor it really hurts my son to have to visit his girls for a minimum of 30 mins behind glass, especially when his baby girl starts to cry because she cant touch her Daddy. It tears me up to know that he hasn’t been able to hold Serenity. Charles grew-up without his Dad. For him the opportunity to raise his girls was a dream come true. Please don’t take that away from him Your Honor! I ask that you take in consideration that Charles is an awesome Husband, Father, Brother, Son, Grandson and Great-Grandson. His Great-Grandmother is not going to be with Us much longer and I know it will take a toll on Charles if she passes away why he’s in Prison. Prison isn’t the place for any Man and Honestly I don’t think it’s a place to put any Young Man as young as he is. I think when sent to prison as young as he is they only become Instutionalized which is unfortunate. If given the right Help now any Man can change if they choose to. Sincerely, Michel L. Dalby
