Your MBA Dreams....... Spoke to a huge participants this morning and most of them are dreaming to get MBA degree, they asked me what would help them to roll their way out on the path to achieving their MBA dreams. This is how I made it happen. I remember beginning my MBA journey last August 2003, I was fresh out of RPN 9 stint, experimenting with writing different success stories of well-known businessmen around the country i.e. Ricky Reyes, Dr. Amable Aguiluz, Toti Carino, Sandy Andoks Javier etc. until a cameraman of News Department advised me that the only way to get rich is through business. Having him said that, going after big businessmen for interviews was no longer fit for the future version of me. Things evolve including the vision I had for my life. On impulse, I applied to MBA-Regis of Ateneo Graduate School and took the grueling entrance exam not in Rockwell but in Loyola. I had no idea what on earth pushed me to think that I could survive a very Sophisticated School Environment. But the experience was incredibly valuable in showing me that the make up of business school classrooms is not just suit and ties.... Engineers, Manufacturing Professionals, Consultants, Entrepreneurs are valuable drivers of motivation and change. I found myself at the edge at the edge of seat listening to the lectures of highly respectable professors like Prof. Colayco of Management Dynamics,Prof. Roa of Strategic Management. I was engaged, stimulated thus experience showed me that I could add value with my other brain skills. The full extent of my abilities were slowly revealing then. Much to my amusement, there was one subject of ours, that I was labeled as Sharon Stone, as I was often seen in the class wearing mini skirt. The dynamics and relationship with classmates and professors were truly awesome. Clear as crystal, it cast flickers of different colors that light upon my MBA journey,I started to learn more about the core courses. I was wildly exurberant, Ive got my nose to the grindstone. The masculine courses were so discombobulating at first, but I enjoyed the ride eventually. The written analysis was so heavy,,,,,there were no teeing-weeing nudges from books to books, good thing I was trained as a writer back in my previous job that worked in my favor. On the other side, I had a lot of enormous strides when it comes to straightening out some business papers but unexpected support from fellow classmates were bursting with excitement. MBA taught us to be team contributors. My advice is to make unwavering commitment. The challenges that drop in your worms eye view must put into halt! Yes, I knew how hard it is to prioritize assignments over family getaway, spending endless hours of reading over lavish playing time with kids,,,, mounting pressures seem endless, but those are just ebbs and flows. Start seeing things from a higher plane, and get a look at the workings behind the curtains, eventually you will realize how everything links up. At the end of it all, opportunities for improving ones career could be occupying attention of MBA students right now. There maybe heavy things which seemed a bit up in the air, just remember to remain focus on your goals. Finding the right approach is not easy, once however, you have done so, you will not find it too hard to keep going. That is provided if you are determined. So to all who are dreaming to get their MBA degree, I must say,,,,, Your Continuous Search for Greater Height should not wane a bit. Thank you very much and May God Bless Us All!
