Your Purpose Gives You Contentment Picture Now, your purpose definitely brings you contentment. It supports a tranquility that refuses to be ruffled by the changing circumstances and states that pass through our lives. This peace that reaches beyond turmoil was evident in the watchful presence of the man that many of us know as Apostle Paul. Constitutional Scripture: Philippians 4:11-13 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances 12) I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well-fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13) I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. Please note: Remember, it was also Paul who confidently said: Constitutional Scripture: Philippians 1:6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Focus Point: Now, this testimony of calm assurance reveals the attitude of a mans purpose. This was not a man whose path was smooth sailing, for Paul endured hardships that would throw many of us into much despair. But Paul knew what God had ordained for his life, and he stayed focused. The obstacles that cropped up along the way could not deter him from completing all that God had given him to do, because his sufficiency lay on the Lord. Focus Point: Now Pauls purpose enabled him to cope with a myriad of hardships and blessings because of his contentment in the all-encompassing care of God. He recognized the inner peace that he enjoyed as the gift of God who enabled him to meet all lifes circumstances with the same trusting perspective. Please note: Paul learned not to sweat the small stuff as long as the overall picture furthered Gods plan and purpose for his life. Remember what the Lord says in His Constitution: Constitutional Scripture: Proverbs 19:21 There are many plans in a mans heart, Nevertheless the Lords counsel--that will stand. Focus Point: Keep this in mind, that this unwavering journey toward a predestined end is possible for all who find and pursue Gods purpose for their lives. Focus Point: Remember, purpose both sets a course after determining the end and encourages the traveler along the way. This gift of contentment is a primary benefit of purpose for it lifts us above the everyday disappointments and trials that would hinder our progress toward the desired end. Focus Point: If you know that what you are doing is Gods purpose for your life; relax and dont ever sweat the small stuff, because He is the Author and Finisher of your life and destiny. Focus Point: Remember what the Apostle Paul stated concerning our King: Constitutional Scripture: Hebrews 5:8-9 though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. 9) And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. Think on this: Purpose both sets a course after determining the end And encourages the traveler along the way.
