Your Righteous Mind Interrupted Scripture for the Day: “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” Philippians 4:8 You have set your New Year’s resolution that is your goals. It is clear and up to the middle of the year, your goals were met with difficulty. As you journey to the end of the month, you find yourself are losing that “I can do it” attitude. Now you are running out of steam. Do not feel bad because we all experience some kind of setback, difficulties, and/or obstacles. When we attempt to maintain a life with God, KNOW that Satan wants control over our life and he wants to interrupt your righteous mind. We cannot give the devil more power than God; it is a mistake when we do. The Devil can use our thoughts, our voice, and our actions to work for him. Our enemy, the devil is at work and he wants Gods children to be angry, confused, depressed, discouraged, helpless, etc... He wants us to give up and he does everything to make us think that we are failures. Thought for the Day: To overcome setbacks, difficulties, and/or obstacles, you must realize what you have control over: 1) External—know that these complications are outside of your control such as the economy, natural disasters, physical limitations, etc… 2) Internal—know that these problems are generally one-time issues such as debt, cash flow, time availability, needed skills, etc… Know that you have direct control over them. 3) Habitual—know that bad habits reflect how you get in your own way and know that they can only be removed by way of behavioral changes. Serenity Prayer God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen. Song for the Day: Donald Lawrence YRM (Your Righteous Mind) with Dorinda Clark Cole at youtu.be/svVlpF5Y2Eg Reflection for the Day: Therefore, you must maintain a life with God and put on the whole armor of God, which will safeguard your mind, heart, and spirit, because your attitude, your thoughts, and/or your words or actions might affect you and others. This is how God’s children approach setbacks, difficulties, and/or obstacles. Into Thy Word
