Your all important week ahead forecast: This week coming is - TopicsExpress

Your all important week ahead forecast: This week coming is very much under the control of our friend the Jet Stream. It is also very difficult to get the exact details spot on from midweek. We are going to see a very unsettled week thats for sure with bands of heavy rain or squally showers and often wind conditions. So whats happening: Monday: WEATHER WARNING IN FORCE First thing we will see the remains of a deepening area of Low Pressure pushing East out of the SW. Gales will start to ease from around sunrise for the far west and by mid morning to the east. We will see a day of sunny spells and very squally heavy and blustery showers affecting us with a risk of hail and thunder. The winds will still be gusty in the heaviest of showers and at times visibility will be reduced so care is needed. Monday night we will see the showers replaced with a more organised band of rain which will be heavy and will add to the risk of seeing some localised flooding. Top temperature of 16 degrees feeling cooler in the SW winds which will drop to around 15mph on coasts and less inland once the front clears. Tuesday: A drier start for most before more showers will push in with a freshening SW wind picking back up gusting to around 25mph for a time on exposed coasts and around 15 to 20mph for inland areas. Dropping lighter into the evening. The showers could merge to give longer spells of rain for a time. These showers carry the risk of thunder and could be very squally at times so care is needed if driving and caught by one. Top temperature of 14 degrees so feeling fresh. Winds from a W-SW direction. Wednesday: EARLY WEATHER WATCH FOR POTENTIALLY STRONG TO GALE FORCE WINDS AGAIN TO HIT THE SW. Wednesday is looking like we will see another deepening area of Low Pressure push in or near to the SW causing winds to pick back up once more. The Jet Stream looks like it will be stuck feeding in one after another weather front, just spinning them out to the west of the UK. Just how far south or north this low moves is difficult to forecast at present however if the low does affect us we will be looking at gusts of 30 to 60mph. Again the details are a little tricky to get spot on at this time. Pulses of showers of showers merging to give long spells are rain looks likely and again with the added risk of thunder not to be ruled out. Top temperature of 16 degrees. THURSDAY to SUNDAY Rick will be bringing you all the latest on Wednesday evening. Thursday: A mostly dry windy day with just a risk of some heavy showers into the afternoon before dying off. Winds looking like reaching speeds of 25 to 35mph from a SW direction but dropping into the early evening. Top temperature of 14 degrees. Friday: A dry start with light winds however this looks set to change as winds pick back up reaching strong to gale force and showers or pulses of heavy rain is set to push back in. Top temperature of 16 degrees. Wednesday onwards there is the potential for these weather fronts to affect the North and not us so make sure you stay up to date with our page and the midweek forecast will be released by Rick on Wednesday evening. Other charts below show you just how changeable it is with Low Pressure just not clearing. Any other developments like warnings needing to be issued will be released as normal throughout the week. Next will be your local weather forecasts by the team covering the next 3 days Monday to Wednesday. Thanks very much Dean.
