Your cell phone and the police; Today the U.S. Supreme Court is hearing a case on whether your cell phone can be studied by the police without a warrant should you be arrested for anything, even wrongfully. Should the court find that the police do not need a warrant, everything in our cell phone is open for study. Your calls, messages, email, credit card, posts, political affiliations and where and when you were someplace via GPS. It appears that the Obama administrations position is that the police should not need a search warrant, a position that I clearly do not agree with- and in fact, I am both surprised and disappointed with the white house on this. I am curious on how the right wing justices will come-down on this- considering that the right wing has been screaming about big government over reaching and the current Supreme Court has a majority of right wing leaning justices. I dont let others to use my phone. Just two days ago while getting into my car a guy came up to me saying something about his phone not working correctly and needing to use mine. That was not going to happen. My first thought was that he could use my phone to set-up a drug deal appointment and my number would be forever connected with that. My second was germs- he did appear somewhat shabby. Now when Marisa Tomei or Maria Sharapova ask to use my phone, now were talking. So where do you stand on this. Should the police have access to all of your details and life through your smartphone without a search warrant? cnn/2014/04/28/opinion/cevallos-police-search-cell-phone/
