Your health Springs Forth [Tuesday, July 23, 2013] One Voice Ministries Brenda Kunneman “See this day that I am the God who creates good health. Therefore, set aside special times to fast and seek Me and you shall see infirmities and nagging ailments decline, for I shall cause your health to spring forth that you may live a full and enriched life.” Prophetic Scripture: Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily… (Isaiah 58:8). The Bible reveals several methods for promoting good health. We know Jesus paid for our healing and revealed that it is God’s will for us to be well (see Isa. 53:4-5). Then we learn that faith in God’s healing power brings supernatural healing into manifestation (see Matt. 9:22,28). Also, living a righteous lifestyle reduces the power of disease and promotes healing (see Exod. 23:25). Additionally, there are many biblical examples of natural foods shown to have countless health benefits. So a proper diet plays a key role as well. However, we read in Isaiah 58 that a regular practice of fasting acts as its own unique healing agent. This chapter talks about how fasting causes us to live a life that is liberated from the power of sin and free from nagging illness and heavy burdens. Even when Jesus taught His disciples principles for casting out demons, He showed them that prayer and fasting has the ability to break the power of certain strongholds (see Matt. 17:20-21). That is because sometimes it takes the dedication and cleansing of fasting to build certain faith levels and it also helps us listen to God more effectively. God wants you healthy, so if you need some areas of infirmity broken, set aside some dedicated times of prayer and fasting, and surely your health shall spring forth speedily! Prayer: Heavenly Father, I know You want me well. Help me implement the things necessary for a healthy lifestyle, and even as I choose times of fasting and prayer with You, cause healing power to work in me. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
